T+ 656 Gone!

Filed under: The Road — Greg @ 11:57 am

Well, the time of my Australian sojurn has ended. Tomorrow morning I once again set off for Africa. I have enjoyed my time here, catching up with friends, eating drinking and being merry (and adding ten kilos to my skinny bag ‘o bones!). Surprisingly I’ve also managed to achieve a few things during my extended holiday home. It’s been grand and getting back is gonna once again take some getting used to after my life of luxury here! Winding my way back to the dark continent, I’ll be spending a couple of days in SA - mostly to watch Australia win the World Cup - then off up to the farm in Mozambique for the beginning of my next adventure! See ya’ll in September.

T+ 634 Finally leaving lovely Melbourne…

Filed under: The Road — Greg @ 6:08 am

…well, at the end of the month anyhoo. Would you believe that it was over a month wait to get my frequent flyer ticket back to SA? Didn’t know the place was so popular! So what I’d hoped to be late March, early April has now turned into the 27th of April. But you get that. I can’t believe that I’ve been here for almost 4 months. It’s gone so dang quickly.

For the web nerds, I’m now actually getting the hang of html and css and am now entering the fun world of content management systems (cms), which will a main ingredient of a majority of my sites. Joomla! is the one I’ve just installed (literally yesterday) and am learning how to use. It sux ‘cos now I’ve got to RTFM - dang! I’ll get there though - you’ll see!

Another, more disturbing discover made a few days ago is that the screen on my lappie has decided that it doesn’t really wanna play nicely anymore. I took it in today and had it diagnosed and the screen will hopefully be replaced (under warranty) sometime next week. Yee Haw!

Well kids that’s it - sorry, my life isn’t really to exciting here! Don’t worry, I’ll soon be back in Africa and regailing youse with many more stories of my adventures! Less than a month to go!
